Police in Levenmouth are investigating following a house-breaking in Methil on Sunday morning.
The patio doors at the rear of a house in Whyterose Terrace were forced open some time between 2am and 10.30am and a handbag and a wallet were stolen.
Inspector Donald Jenks said: “Waking up to find that your house has been broken into is very distressing and not the start to a new year that anyone would want.
“Our investigations are at an early stage and we would appreciate any information that the public can give us in relation to this break-in.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
