Public asked to help shape new East Neuk cycle routes
ByThe Courier Reporter
Plans are afoot to develop cycle ways for the East Neuk.
Anstruther Cycle Group, which is working with the local community council, is behind the proposal to initially link Pittenweem to Anstruther, although members hope the new cycle ways could be extended on to Cellardyke and Kilrenny.
To that end, a public consultation is due to be held at Waid Academy this evening from 5pm to 7pm, giving members of the public a chance to hear more about the group’s vision.
Further events will take place at the Co-op on Saturday from 10am to noon, at Anstruther Primary School on Monday from 3pm until 4pm, and at the Scottish Fisheries Museum on Friday November 27 from 10am until 1pm.
Local councillor Elizabeth Riches urged the public to get involved, saying everyone can benefit from the plans.
She added: “This will have multiple benefits for school pupils, for those with mobility scooters and for residents and tourists alike.
“In order to develop the best routes, the views of the public are needed.”
