Commuters travelling in and out of Fife endured a difficult rush hour on the roads at both ends of the region.
Traffic through Newport and Tayport was much heavier than usual due to a lane closure on the Tay Road Bridge, with taibacks stretching well back into the Kingdom.
The lane was closed by bridge authorities following an accident on Wednesday night which caused damage to the barrier.
Meanwhile, following the problems seen around the Forth Road Bridge due to a controlled explosion on Wednesday night, there was again congestion in and around the same route from Edinburgh into Fife.
Police Scotland said there were no reportable accidents which may have caused the congestion, and that traffic may simply have been heavier than usual.
A broken down bus on the Ferrytoll slip southbound may have contributed, however.
