Man suffers head injuries in serious Dunfermline assault

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Dunfermline.
Officers were called to New Row at around 1.50am on Sunday morning and found a man with serious head injuries.
The victim, who has been identified by police as a 21-year-old man, was taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital and is being treated there.
The victim is described as being around 6ft tall, with a slim build and short brown hair.
He was wearing dark blue denim Voi jeans with a New York design belt, and a white t-shirt.
On his right arm is a black tribal-design tattoo that starts at the top outer of his arm and reaches down to just above his elbow.
Detective Inspector Chris Mill said: “We’re working to identify the victim and are appealing for anyone who recognises his description to come forward.
“At this time, a man is detained in connection with this incident however we’d urge any further witnesses to get in touch.”
