Police have issued an appeal after a young girl was approached and spoken to by a driver in Leuchars earlier this week.
Officers say the schoolgirl was approached in the Schoolhill area of the village between 4pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday.
The man was described as driving a Land Rover-type vehicle.
A police spokesman said: “Although she was unharmed, officers are currently seeking more information about the incident and have been speaking to people who may have been in the area on Tuesday afternoon.”
Detective Inspector Nicola Shepherd, who is leading the inquiry, said: “We are keen to trace people who were in the area of Schoolhill and Pitlethie Road during these times.
“We are also interested in tracing a Land Rover-type vehicle which was seen in the area of Schoolhill and Main Street, Leuchars, around the time.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
