Lochore Meadows project hopes to stop people ‘peeing in the woods’

Visitors to Lochore Meadows soon won’t have to take a comfort break in the woods.
Cowdenbeath councillors have agreed to part fund a purpose-built community golf clubhouse on the visitor attraction’s nine-hole course to the tune of £35,000.
It will replace an old and tired hut on the course.
The project is the brainchild of Fife Golf Trust with support from the council, Sportscotland Legacy 2014 and Ballingry Golf Club.
It would house a caf, toilets and changing room and would be accessible to all park users, not just golfers.
Fife Golf Trust’s chief executive Alistair MacGregor said: “Because there are no toilets, people are peeing in the woods.
“There are toilets in the outdoor education centre but people aren’t going to walk to them if there are trees in the wood.”
