The family of a “much loved” Fife father who lost his life in a road accident earlier this month say they are dreading the pain of Christmas Day without him.
Car mechanic Adam Maxwell, 28, who grew up in Auchtermuchty but recently moved to Buckhaven, died from his injuries on November 14, the day after he was involved in a collision on the A916 road south of Craigrothie near Cupar.
Mr Maxwell, who attended both Newburgh Primary School, Auchtermuchty Primary School and later, Bell Baxter High School, had to be airlifted to Ninewells after the crash and it was there that he later passed away.
Speaking from the family home in Gateside, Mr Maxwell’s stepfather,Joe Rodger, 64, said Adam’s passing had left a “huge void”.
His stepsisters Julie Mcintosh, 38, and Rosie Mackenzie, 38, said they are dreading this Christmas without their beloved younger brother.
“Adam absolutely loved Christmas and spent it with the family every year,” Rosie said.
“He enjoyed the simple things like pulling crackers and he enjoyed collecting the wee items you get inside them. It’s going to be a very sad house on Christmas Day this year with an empty chair where he should be sitting.
“Christmas just won’t be the same again.’’
