Officers from Fife Division of Police Scotland based at Levenmouth are appealing for witnesses after a flat pack plastic garden shed was stolen from the B&Q store on Riverside Road, Leven, earlier this week.
It was the latest in a series of thefts from this particular store, and took place overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
The property stolen was taken from the outside storage yard.
Detective Sergeant Jim McGuinness, who is leading the investigation into the thefts, said: “This theft follows on from a spate of other similar thefts last year.
We are actively looking to recover all of the stolen property from these thefts and would strongly advise people from buying these types of items from anyone other than genuine retailers.
“We are keen to hear from people who have been offered items such as decking, wheelbarrows and rolls of insulation for sale, or who have information as to who may be responsible. Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
