Car stranded on St Andrews beach

Police had to call a tractor to remove an Audi stuck on East Sands in St Andrews.

Bemused onlookers spotted the seemingly abandoned car on East Sands on Thursday.

Several photographs of the black car were posted to the Overheard in St Andrews Facebook page.

It is not known if the car was driven onto the beach as a prank or if it had been abandoned.

Police were made aware of the stranded vehicle but needed a tractor to tow it off the beach.

Colin Wiseman said: “Lucky the tide didn’t take it out.”
