A92 roadworks between Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy postponed

Roadworks that would have closed one of the busiest stretches of the A92 in Fife have been postponed.
The Thornton Bypass southbound between the Bankhead Roundabout in Glenrothes and the Redhouse Roundabout in Kirkcaldy was due to close from Friday night until Monday morning.
However, Bear Scotland, which maintains the route, has said that the proposed resurfacing will now take place next weekend due to expected adverse weather.
The improvements require dry weather conditions to be carried out and the forecasted inclement weather could impact on the quality of the new road surface if work continues this weekend.
The resurfacing was to be the second of two phases of works being carried out on the A92 Thornton Bypass this week.
The first phase, which involved maintenance on the bridge over the River Ore, began on Monday.
The diversions planned for this weekend will remain the same when the works begin next Friday evening, with a full weekend closure of the southbound carriageway.
All vehicles heading south will be diverted off the A92 at Bankhead Roundabout and then diverted via the B921, B922 and B981 before re-joining the A92 at Chapel.
