A Glenrothes man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 21-year-old in the town.
Ewan Dow, 24, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday accused of murdering Daniel Turner.
Mr Turner died as a result of injuries he sustained during an alleged disturbance in Glenrothes on Friday morning.
Dow made no plea or declaration when faced with two charges of threatening and abusive behaviour, one of assault and one of murder.
The case was continued for further examination and Dow was remanded in custody.
He is next scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday.
Mr Turner’s family, who do not wish to be named, had earlier paid tribute to their son. They said: “Daniel was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, family member and friend to many.
“He lived life to the full. He was a friendly and happy individual. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
“At this time family and friends would like to be left alone to grieve.”
Friends also paid tribute to the 21-year-old, a former pupil at Beath High School, Cowdenbeath.
