More than 100,000 people have voted to have an aeroplane named after a Fife tot who died suddenly last month.
Two-year-old Edie Murphy from Kirkcaldy, passed away on October 16, a week after being rushed to hospital with a high temperature and convulsions.
As we reported, her devastated parents Tom and Cheryl launched a bid to ensure her name lives on in the sky through a competition by holiday firm Thomson.
By this morning Edie’s name had attracted more than 109,000 votes and the number is rising by the minute.
It remains one of the top five suggestions put forward by members of the public to name the firm’s new 787 Dreamliner.
Cheryl, 31, has also launched a fundraising drive on behalf of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh which tried to save Edie’s life.Vote for Edie at nameourplane.com/name/edie“Edie was a happy, colourful soul who brought love and joy to all those around her,” said Cheryl.
