Funeral director launches plan to move into former rugby club

A rugby club’s headquarters in Cupar is set to be given a new lease of life as a funeral directors.
Steven Stewart, who runs the funeral parlour in Bonnygate, has applied for permission in principle to change the use of the former Howe of Fife Rugby Club base on Provost Wynd.
The club is relocating to purpose-built premises in Duffus Park and internal alterations will be made to the Provost Wynd building if change of use consent is granted.
Mr Stewart’s application states that the current funeral directors premises are at an “extremely busy” junction, noting that relocation to the former rugby club headquarters would “produce a more dignified environment”.
