Police investigating a fatal road accident in Fife at the weekend have made a fresh appeal for witnesses.
Officers say they are particularly keen to trace the driver of a taxi that may have taken a man, “possibly dishevelled”, from the Scoonie area of Leven to Methil shortly after the collision.
Kristoffer Brister, 19, from Leven, died as a result of the single-vehicle collision involving a silver Peugeot in which he was a passenger.
The accident happened on the A915 Windygates Road, Leven, at about 1.45am on Saturday.
Sergeant Derek Allan said: “We are appealing for anyone with information about the collision, and in particular the driver of the taxi, to get in touch with Police Scotland by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 as soon as possible.”
On Monday Lee Hamilton appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to face charges of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving with no licence or insurance, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He was released on bail.
On Sunday Kristoffer’s grandmother spoke about how she was struggling to come to terms with his death.
