MSPs investigate future of closure-threatened Longannet Power Station

The future of Longannet Power Station in Fife will be investigated by MSPs.

Holyrood’s economy, energy and tourism committee will take evidence about the site.

Convener Murdo Fraser said: “The seriousness of the situation is reflected in the fact we have urgently called to Holyrood representatives of the major players in the electricity industry.

“There is no doubt that this is a complex situation but it is vital that we question those with a role in deciding Longannet’s future to account for their decisions and future plans.”
