Fife talk to highlight crucial role of animals in war
ByLeeza Clark
The First World War brought incredible change and created unlikely heroes.
Now a Fife event will look at the major role animals played in conflict.
At 7pm on Tuesday November 10 in Methil Heritage Centre, a talk called Animals at War will look at the vital role our furry and feathered friends played in the Great War.
Many animals served in the support of the British and Allied Forces, and as a result, millions died.
Alistair McEwan of Scotland’s War Project will look at the often surprising ways they helped to win the war for human freedom.
The free event is part of A Week to Remember, a series of events at Rothes Halls and Methil Heritage Centre which commemorates the centenary of the First World War and has been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
A Week to Remember runs from November 9 to 14. To book, or for more information, visit www.onfife.com/fifesgreatwar.
