A Kincardine man attacked and wrestled with his dad, vandalised his grandfather’s van then set fire to a bin outside his mum’s house after binging on Buckfast.
Gary Gillespie, 22, of Regent Street, used money given to him by his dad to buy two bottles of the fortified wine, which he drank before causing a “commotion”.
He ended the night by starting a fire in his mum’s garden, which resulted in the police and fire brigade being called.
Appearing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, he admitted assaulting Steven Galbraith at Forth View in Kincardine on June 26.
He also behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, repeatedly making threats, refusing to leave when requested to do so and struggled violently with the occupants, threw stones at a house and broke a deckchair.
Unemployed Gillespie pleaded guilty to maliciously smashing the windscreen of a van.
He further admitted wilfully setting fire to a bin at his mother’s address on Regent Street.
Depute fiscal Claire Bremner told the court Gillespie was ejected from his grandfather’s house following a commotion during which he had threatened to kill his father.
He later turned up at his mother’s house and set fire to a bin.
Defence solicitor John Bain said his client had a “long-standing, bitter, unpleasant relationship” with his father.
He had little recollection of his actions afterwards, added the solicitor.
Sheriff Charles MacNair called for reports and Gillespie will be sentenced on April 27.
