Span-tastic UNESCO World Heritage Site status conferred on Forth Bridge
ByThe Courier Reporter
One of Scotland’s most famous structures has joined one of the world’s most exclusive clubs after being named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Forth Bridge joins iconic locations such as the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, the Great Wall of China and Stonehenge following a decision in Germany on Sunday.
The 125-year-old crossing was officially recognised at the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee in Bonn.
It is hoped that the status will bring even more visitors to Fife.
