A 37-year-old man appeared in court on Monday charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Fife.
Police said another man, aged 53, sustained a serious injury to his back following the incident in Methilhill on Saturday night and was taken to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy,
The disturbance came in the same week that Levenmouth police seized two potentially-lethal knives from people in the street during a special operation.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police in Fife were called to Kirke Park, Methilhill, at around 8.30pm on Saturday November 21 following a report of a disturbance.
“A 53-year-old man sustained a serious injury to his back and was taken to Victoria Hospital.
“A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder.
“He appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday November 23.”
