Fife Council has made a new close season signing a defensive rock.
Not the tallest, or indeed particularly mobile, there can be no denying it remains a commanding presence in the penalty area.
While weighing in on the heavy side and of an indeterminate age, nothing is more effective at stopping free-flowing football.
This boulder and others like it have been signed up to keep youngsters off public football pitches in Kirkcaldy, a move the town’s MSP David Torrance has described as “ludicrous”.
