A group of Fife sailors have clubbed together in a bid to trace fire-raisers who destroyed one of their boats.
Members of Methil Boat Club have donated £1,000 to help identify two masked figures seen at the harbour just moments before one of its biggest boats was deliberately set alight.
It follows on from another £1,000 already on offer following the blaze in the early hours of Friday morning, which has left the £15,000 Tamar 2,000 a shell on the quayside.
Police have launched a major investigation into the fire, and have already confirmed that they are treating the incident as “suspicious”.
The son of the vessel’s owner, Zander McKay, 32, had been rebuilding the 22 ft long pleasure boat for the past five years and it was only months away from being relaunched.
He said: “I still don’t know much more about what has happened. It’s been hard.
“My dad and I have put up £500 as a reward, the club secretary has put up another £500 and the club itself £1,000.

“We hope it might help to draw people out of the woodwork.”
A specialist sniffer dog has now been brought to the docks as part of a major forensic investigation into the blaze.
Six investigators from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland were also in attendance as they surveyed the remains of the vessel.
The club has handed over CCTV footage that appears to show two people, dressed completely in black and holding petrol cans, approaching the boat just moments before the fire started.
It is understood that the petrol can may have been leaking, allowing investigators to track the movements of the culprits.
“I’ve been going down to look at it every day and to see what is happening,” added Mr McKay.
“There hasn’t been much from the police yet but they took a lot of evidence away with them so hopefully there is something there that can help them.”
