The Voice winner Stevie McCrorie’s excitement at returning to T in the Park will be tempered by concern for his wife.

Amy, 29, has been admitted to hospital twice with stomach pains since the Kirkcaldy firefighter’s victory on the BBC One show last Saturday.

She was hit by crippling pain in the early hours of Sunday and again during the week.

Doting husband Stevie, 30, from Alva in Clackmannanshire, flew back from London to be by her side. The couple have a two-year-old daughter, Bibi.

Stevie will play at the Scottish music festival this summer five years after performing on its T Break Stage.

He said: “Growing up in Scotland I dreamed of being able to play T in the Park.

“I played the T Break Stage in 2010 with a collaborative project called MOPP but to return to the festival this year as a solo artist is going to be really special.”

Festival director Geoff Ellis described Stevie as an “incredible talent” and said his performance at Strathallan Castle in July would be a special moment.

As he waited to hear whether his single Lost Stars will reach number one on Sunday, fans flocked to see Stevie busk on Buchanan Street in Glasgow on Friday.
