Almost 100 patients are stuck waiting for home or community care packages as Fife Council struggles with an £8 million budget overspend. The local authority has accused its NHS colleagues of failing to hand over an agreed £3 million to help pay for the care needed. Councillors have warned that unless the money is forthcoming, services may have to be reserved for those most in need. NHS Fife said it was continuing the work closely with the council to ensure the population’s needs were met. For more on this story see The Courier or try our digital edition.
