A 35-year-old Fife man continued to have a romantic relationship with a girl even after discovering she was only 14.
Steven Nolan met his victim on an online dating app where she claimed to be 17 and he claimed to be 27. They met up in Fife.
However, after she told him she was only 14 he continued to send her sexual messages and graphic fantasies, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.
Fiscal depute Eilidh Robertson told the court the complainer revealed her age in a message that said: “I’m sorry don’t leave me. Age doesn’t matter.”
Nolan’s response was: “I’m not leaving as long as this is what you really want.”
Afterwards Ms Robertson said they continued to send messages talking about taking off each other’s clothes and kissing.
He also sent a message where he described wanting to see “all of her” and described kissing her, she told the court.
The relationship was exposed after the girl had an argument with her mother who contacted the police.
The teenage girl has mental health issues and active involvement from social workers.
The pair had previously met in Fife before she told him she was 14, but she did reveal she was still in school.
Nolan, of Atholl Court, Jedburgh, had previously admitted sending sexual messages to a child under 16.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael deferred sentence until March 7 to obtain reports.
Nolan is currently subject to the notification requirements of the sex offenders register.
