‘Business as usual’ despite rumours of staffing trouble at Queen Anne High School

There is mystery surrounding the “departure” of two teachers from a Fife school.
Rumours abound that two members of Queen Anne High School’s teaching department were “escorted off the premises” in the middle of last week.
One parent who wanted to remain anonymous contacted The Courier to say that the incident happened on Wednesday morning at the Dunfermline school, which caters for more than 1,500 pupils.
“I was told the teachers were escorted off the premises,” the parent said.
“It seems strange. I heard they’d been told to pack their bags and go.
“I heard from one of my kids but when I spoke to some other parent they said it was true.”
However, Fife Council told The Courier it is “business as usual” at the school.
Fife Council’s directorate resources manager, Shelagh McLean, moved to offer reassurance about matters at Queen Anne.
“There have been some staff changes at the school and pupils and parents have been informed,” she said.
The Courier also contacted teachers’ union the EIS.
A spokesman said: “All casework is confidential, and the EIS does not comment in relation to any individual case.”
