More vehicles have been stolen from Fife farms as a rural crime wave continues to sweep the region.
A 4×4 and three quad bikes were taken from sheds at Cupar and Dunshalt over the New Year period, the latest incidents to blight rural parts of the region.
A green Land Rover Defender with a white roof was stolen, along with two red Honda quad bikes and various tools from Elmwood College Farm between Tuesday December 29 and Sunday.
The second break-in happened at Greenmyre Farm, Auchtermuchty Road, Dunshalt, when a quad bike was stolen along with a number of tools from between last Wednesday and Thursday.
Community Sergeant Ewan Pearce, from Cupar Police Station, said: “If anyone remembers seeing anything suspicious in these areas around that time, please get in touch. I’d like to reiterate how important it is to keep your property secure and remain vigilant.
“Remember that sheds and garages are extensions of your home and should also be given consideration as to their security.
“Security lights, padlocks and CCTV for larger properties should all be considered to deter criminals.”
Last month The Courier reported that several farms in north-east Fife had been hit by thieves, who stole 4x4s, motocross bikes and tools.
Farms near Freuchie, Cupar and Letham were all targeted by the criminals, who also took farm machinery and trailers during the raids.
