Nine patients had to wait at least 12 hours at A&E in Fife in a week, new figures show.
But waiting times in the region are moving in the right direction after bed-blocking returned to haunt the NHS board over the New Year.
More than 130 people had to wait four hours or more at Fife’s emergency department for the week up to January 10, which was 89% of all its A&E patients.
That is an improvement on the previous week’s 86.9%, but below the Scotland health board average of 92.3%.
NHS Fife said they had experienced problems with bed-blocking, meaning they were struggling to return A&E patients into community care.
Health Secretary Shona Robison said waiting times were better than last year.
Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesman Jim Hume said it was time for the Cabinet Secretary to “pull her head out of the sand on emergency department waiting time figures”.
