Police are appealing for witnesses after shop was broken into in Leuchars.
The Spar store on Main Street was targeted 1.15am.
The thieves stole cigarettes after forcing their way in.
Police believe three men, who left the area in a dark blue Saab estate car, were responsible for the crime.
Sergeant Pat Turner said: “The suspects attempted to hide their identities with items of clothing obscuring their faces while they were within the shop.
“However, we know that one was wearing a light-coloured North Face hooded top whilst a second had on a distinctive black jacket with a white stripe down the full length of the arm.
“We believe the car they used to make off from the area was a dark-coloured Saab estate motor car and was either a 93 or 95 model. We are actively looking to trace this vehicle and its occupants.
“Anyone who can assist us with our ongoing investigation should contact police immediately.”
