A mother accused of battering her two-year-old son to death with her partner claims the evidence of two child witnesses should not be heard in their murder trial.
Rachael Fee, 31, and civil partner Nyomi Fee, 28, are accused of fatally injuring Liam Johnson, who died in their former home in Thornton, Fife, on March 22, last year, and trying to blame a seven-year-old boy.
They are also charged with a catalogue of abuse of Liam, the seven-year-old and a third boy and are due to stand trial in April, next year.
At the High Court in Livingston on Friday, their legal team mounted a challenge against use of the boys’ evidence, due to the way earlier interviews had been conducted.
Filming of the boys’ evidence next week has been cancelled and rescheduled for January, with an evidential hearing set for December.
