Scottish party leader Willie Rennie was in the constituency on Thursday alongside candidate Jane Holden to officially launch their campaign. He said the IT worker was the right person to deliver for Cowdenbeath at the Scottish Parliament. Mr Rennie added: “Liberal Democrat pressure has delivered free childcare for thousands of young children across Scotland. “This will directly benefit families and children in Cowdenbeath and across the constituency. “It will help children with good quality, early education and also help more parents get back to work.” The duo visited the town’s Rascals Nursery, where Ms Holden said the benefits of quality early years care were “clear”. She said: “Our plan to extend free care to 40% of two-year-olds would help around 1,700 children across Fife.”
