Scottish locations where the hit TV series Outlander was filmed have seen an influx of visitors.
In Fife, Falkland and Culross are among the towns and villages to have reported an increase in tourism.
Falkland, which portrayed 1940s Inverness, saw the number of visitors to its palace soar by 12%.
Historic burgh Culross, used for scenes in the fictional village of Cranesmuir, recorded a 9% upturn.
As previously reported, Doune Castle, in Perthshire, welcomed almost a third more visitors than it did last summer.
The National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland also welcomed more people to Preston Mill, in East Lothian, Culloden, and Blackness Castle, in West Lothian, following their roles in the historic fantasy drama based on Diana Gabaldon’s books.
The trust’s filming manager Anna Rathband said: “Outlander is an excellent example of how film tourism has benefited the trust and the properties that either inspired the story or were used as backdrops have all seen an increase in visitors compared to last year.
“We worked closely with Sony to produce a digital guide to our properties that have Outlander connections and we hope this will continue to encourage visitors to explore the real places behind the series.”
