Hundreds of drivers will gather in Glenrothes next month to mark the second anniversary of the disappearance of a local man.

The family of missing Allan Bryant Junior are to host a car rally at a local industrial estate a week on Sunday.

Over 300 motorists have already pledged to turn out at the event, which will feature a parade through the streets of Glenrothes, including a drive past the nightclub where the now 25-year-old was last seen.

A similar event held earlier this year attracted hundreds of supporters and Mr Bryant’s father, also named Allan, said that the event provided a huge boost for the family at the time.

“Events like this are all about keeping Allan in the public eye and lots of people have already said that they are going to come,” he told The Courier.

“The last rally was a huge success and this looks like it is going to be even bigger. The police have been quite supportive of it as well.”

Allan Jnr was 23 when he disappeared after a night out with friends on November 3 2013.

He had been at Styx Nightclub on Caskieberran Road, with CCTV footage showing him leaving the venue in the early hours of the morning.

Despite a high-profile campaign from both police and Allan’s family, there remains no trace of him since.

With the help of donations, Allan Snr has purchased a van covered with images of his son, while posters appealing for information can be found throughout Fife.

Meanwhile, Police Scotland has maintained that there has never been any evidence of criminality linked to Allan’s disappearance.

Central to the effort of finding the 25-year-old is a Facebook page established by the Bryant family, which has attracted over 54,000 followers.

However, despite the support he has received from online well-wishers, Mr Bryant said that nothing can compensate for the love of his missing boy.

“Every day is sheer hell,” he continued. “My daughter has just passed her driving test and Allan would have loved that.

“He should be here celebrating with us. It never gets any easier it just gets harder and harder.”

The car rally will take place at Pentland Park, Glenrothes, on Sunday November 1 at 6.30pm.
