A nurse is to stand trial accused of attacking an 87-year-old patient with a shower head.
Ann Adams is accused of attacking William Whyte, a residential patient at the Benore Care Centre in Lochore, while she was charged with his care.
Adams, 58, is alleged to have repeatedly struck the pensioner with the shower head on his hand in April.
At a pre-trial review on Thursday, Dunfermline Sheriff Court was told that Mr Whyte would not be able to appear in court as a witness in the case.
Adams, of Rosebank, Cowdenbeath, denied a single charge that, on April 24, she did, while acting in her capacity as a nurse, assault William Whyte, a patient in her care, then residing there, by repeatedly striking him on the hand with the shower head.
She had been due to face trial next month but Sheriff Craig McSherry continued the case to trial in April with a further pre-trial hearing in March.
Benore Care Centre is a 40-bedroom residential elderly care home. It is owned by Avondale Care, which specialises in dementia care.
