Woman ‘shaken and upset’ by handbag robbery in Leven

Police in Fife are hunting a hooded man who robbed a woman of her handbag.
The 57-year-old woman was left shaken and upset after the incident in Leven on Friday morning.
The incident near the Hut Shop in Waggon road happened at around 7.35am.
The suspect is described as white, between 20 and 30 years old, around 5ft 7in, of slim build and with a local accent.
He was wearing a black jacket with the hood up and dark trousers.
Anyone with information is urged to get in touch with officers.
Detective Sergeant James McGuinness, who is leading the inquiry, said: “We are presently following a positive line of inquiry, however we are appealing for anyone who has been in this area and may have seen this man around 7.35am to come forward.
“Thankfully the victim was not injured but she is understandably shaken and upset.
“Crimes of this nature are very rare in Leven area, however I would ask members of the public to be vigilant.”
