A Christmas Day attack in a Dunfermline nightclub left the victim with a broken nose, a court has heard.
The incident happened after Taylor Wright saw his girlfriend sitting on the knee of another man at a party.
Wright, 24, of Main Street, Cardenden, admitted that on December 25 2014 at Johnsons, Pilmuir Street, he assaulted Jordan Shaw by repeatedly punching him on the face to his injury.
Depute fiscal Jade Doig told Dunfermline Sheriff Court that the incident happened shortly after midnight at a Christmas Eve event at the nightclub.
“He was bleeding heavily from the nose and was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy,” she added.
At around 1.30am following the assault, Wright sent a private message to the victim on Facebook apologising for what he had done.
Mr Shaw was found to have sustained a broken nasal septum.
Sheriff Craig McSherry ordered Wright to pay his victim £500 in compensation.
