A Kirkcaldy kestrel that flew off on a flight of fancy prompting a region-wide search has been found.
Mito was last seen on Sunday when he was being flown by owner Robin Manson in Dunnikier Park.
However, the captive bred flew off towards the Smeaton area of the town and had not been seen since.
Mr Manson turned to Facebook in the hope of finding the bird, with hundreds of people sharing his appeal for help to find the bird.
“Mito’s small and friendly so won’t attack anyone if you approach, but please can you call me first if you see him,” he said.Thankfully, the appeal worked — with Mito being spotted and captured on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Manson said: “Fantastic news! A very nice woman in Dysart (Linda Salmond) spotted Mito on her neighbour’s roof and called me at once.
“My good friends at Elite Falconry went out there and managed to collect him about 15 minutes ago. I should be re-united with him tonight.
“I seriously can’t thank everyone enough for all their help. He surely would’ve been lost and possibly dead without you.
“Thanks a million to every single person who shared my post and who went out looking for him. I’m over the moon.”
