“It’s not as bad as people thought it would be” no chaos on the roads despite Forth Bridge works

Fears of motoring chaos across central Scotland proved unfounded at the weekend as a number of major routes were closed.
The public appeared to heed warnings that a large section of the A90/M90 would be closed to enable work to take place on the Forth Replacement Crossing.
That coincided with essential maintenance on the Forth Road Bridge and the closure of part of the A92 between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes.
A spokesperson for Transport Scotland said that while a number of diversions were in place, the process had been very well organised.
“It’s not as bad as people thought it would be although there are some delays in some places,” she said.
Just after noon, Traffic Scotland tweeted: “Traffic coping really well through M9 and A985 Kincardine Bridge diversions.”
A second tweet read: “Local roads around Kirkliston and Dalmeny looking a lot busier than normal due to closures.”
