A Fife man who ruined a family’s Christmas dinner by sending ‘revenge porn’ is behind bars while his punishment is decided.
Clive Weatherhogg, 42, was found guilty after trial of coercing a woman into having filmed hotel liaisons with a stranger then sent the video to the victim’s sister as her family sat down to Christmas dinner in 2014.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that Weatherhogg, of Balmalcolm, by Cupar, had failed to attend a court ordered social work report vital to his sentencing.
His defence said he did not get the appointment letter.
Sheriff George Way said had previously told Weatherhogg the maximum punishment he could face is life imprisonment.
He said: “This is a very grave matter. I allowed Mr Weatherhogg his liberty partly so matters could be set in motion for him.
“I am concerned about a situation where he has not been dealt with but is still in the situation where there are risks, not just for him but for others.
“We can’t have him at liberty again that is perfectly clear. He will likely receive a significant sentence and it is almost inevitable this matter will go to the High Court.”
During his trial the jury heard a string of extraordinary allegations, including that Weatherhogg wanted the pair to video call him during one of their romps and that when Mr Amobi turned down the suggestion of a threesome he asked for a video of a sex session.
Weatherhogg’s bail was revoked and he was remanded in custody until reports can be obtained.
His next court appearance will be on April 7.
