Kirkcaldy school pupils were among the first to take a dip in the town’s new swimming pool.
Fife Sports and Leisure Trust opened the doors of the leisure centre on the Esplanade early on Monday morning.
And it was not long before primary six pupils from Kirkcaldy West gave it the thumbs-up.
The first in the pool after doors opened at 6.30am was Hamish Rowland from Kinghorn.
“It’s a historic day and I was looking forward to a swim,” he said. “It’s a great facility.”
Sea swimmer Kev Spears from Kirkcaldy was also keen to make use of the new facilities and took an early dip.
Vicky Friel, who is also from Kirkcaldy, used the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes after the old pool closed.

She added: “I’ll save on petrol now.”
Meanwhile, in the gym, local teenager Natasha McCallum, 17, tried out the weight machines.
Natasha, who also takes part in street dancing classes to keep fit, said: “It’s a lot better than the old centre.”
And pensioner Harry Thomson, 63, was back in the gym after a two and a half year hiatus.
He said the new centre inspired him to start his fitness kick.
“I’m back to square one and it’s my first day,” he said. “From first impressions, it’s great here.”
