The retail arm of a Kirkcaldy company that provided the base cloth for the Great Tapestry of Scotland has been relaunched.
Scottish Linen the retail arm of Peter Greig & Co has redesigned its website and added a blog and a new accessories line from textile designer Sarah Stewart.
The 22-year-old from Kirkcaldy achieved an honours degree in textile design from Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee.
In the 19th Century there were 15 weaving mills in Kirkcaldy alone. Today Peter Greig & Co is the last linen mill to survive in all of Scotland.
The company continues to produce authentic, luxurious, traditionally-made fabrics.
A spokesman told The Courier: “We are so proud of what we do that we battle on to compete in a global market and fly the flag for Scottish textiles.
“Exciting things have been happening recently surrounding the company. These include the unveiling of the Great Tapestry of Scotland.
“This is one of the longest tapestries in the world and its base cloth was woven by us, right here in Kirkcaldy.”
