The desperate father of a missing Glenrothes man is looking to the skies for help in tracing his son.
A private plane and photographer has been hired to take images of land across Glenrothes for clues in the hunt for Allan Bryant Jr, 21 months after he disappeared.
It is the latest step undertaken by Mr Bryant also named Allan and his family, who are still in limbo after Allan Jr went missing following a night out with friends.
Although police and the Bryant family have undertaken extensive searches throughout the Glenrothes area, Mr Bryant said that aerial photography could throw up new clues.
“When Police Scotland fly their helicopter from Glenrothes to search areas for our Allan, they can only fly around here for about 30 minutes then have to head back to refuel.
“This caused us so much concern, as they could not cover areas which were so important to us, that we hired our own aircraft with an HD photographer who took hundreds of images for us.
“These photos are so clear you can zoom in and see a bottle of coke.”
Allan Jr was 23 when he disappeared after a night out with friends on November 3 2013.
He had been at Styx Nightclub on Caskieberran Road, with CCTV footage showing him leaving the venue in the early hours of the morning.
High-profile appeals have been made by both his family and the police, while searches have been conducted throughout the town, including in Riverside Park. However, there remains no trace of the young man, who would now be 25.
A massive online campaign has been launched by the Bryant family, supported by more than 35,000 well-wishers from around the world.
A fund has also been launched to help the family with expenses incurred as part of their own search.
Last week the family was one of those alerted to the discovery of human remains in Glenrothes’ Riverside Park.
It took several days for police to formally identify the remains as those of Wayne Fleming, 39, also from Glenrothes, who had been missing for at least five months.
In a show of solidarity, Mr Bryant was present at a memorial event for Mr Fleming on Wednesday evening.
