Cyclist rushed to hospital after accident with car near Falkland

A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with a car in Fife this morning.
The accident happened on the A912 between Falkland and New Inn at around 8.10am.
The cyclist was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, where he is believed to be in a serious condition.
The road was closed for around five hours but reopened shortly before 2pm.
Sergeant Derek Allan, of the Police Scotland Road Policing Unit based in Glenrothes, said: “This is a very busy road at this time of the day and I am appeaing to any road user who witnessed this accident or has any information which will assist us with this investigation.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101 or provide the information anonymously through Crimetoppers on 0800 555 111.”
