The fire, in a ground-floor flat in a block of four in the town’s Leny Place, was discovered shortly before 6am on Sunday. A woman and a man in the flat had made their way out before firefighters from Dunfermline fire station arrived. Fire crews brought out the man suffering from smoke inhalation from the adjoining property. He was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances. No-one was injured in a fire on Sunday morning in Cawdor Drive, Glenrothes. Fire crews, who used a ventilation fan and a hosereel jet, brought the kitchen fire under control very quickly.
