Presenter and commentator Peter Alliss will host a golf fundraiser at the Old Course Hotel.

Guests attending a sell-out fundraising event with golf commentator Peter Alliss will be vying for a host of raffle prizes.

Mr Alliss will reveal an insight into his life and work at the event in St Andrews next week.

In the latest in a series of Look Who’s Talking events presented by the Rotary Club of St Andrews, the evening with Mr Alliss will be held in the Hall of Champions at the Old Course Hotel, starting at 7.30 next Tuesday.

The evening is being sponsored by Murray Donald Solicitors, with tickets raising much-needed funds for the charity Keepers of the Green and other rotary charities.

Mr Alliss, a former professional golfer who is now a BBC television presenter and commentator, author and golf course designer, will be broadcasting live from the Ricoh Women’s British Open 2013 (RWBO), which takes place at St Andrews from August 1-4.

A selection of raffle prizes will include flags signed by Gary Player and Paul Lawrie, provided by the R&A, and a framed photograph, signed by all RWBO competitors, donated by the Ladies’ Golf Union.

Tuition vouchers, polo shirts and a round of golf for four at the Castle Course have been donated by St Andrews Links Trust. IMG has provided a prize of entry to the course and to the VIP lounge for two during the RBWO.

Guests will also have the chance to bid for a round of golf for four at the Old Course Hotel Golf Resort and Spa’s Duke’s Course, while the Fairmont St Andrews is offering a round of golf for four at the Kittock Course.

Other prizes include tea, scones and clotted cream for two at Balgove Larder and wine from the Rotary Club of St Andrews.

During the Look Who’s Talking event, Peter Alliss will talk with Renton Laidlaw, writer and golf commentator, sharing stories, anecdotes and giving an insight into the golfing world.

Mr Alliss will also take questions from the audience.
