A West Fife teenager has become the tragic victim of a cruel online blackmail gang.
The 17-year-old, who has not been named, is thought to have jumped from the Forth Road Bridge after being threatened by scammers using Skype.
The boy was tricked into having a chat conversation with someone he thought was a teenage girl.
However, the blackmailers recorded the exchanges and threatened to send them to the boy’s friends and family.
It is understood the youngster panicked and jumped to his death from the Forth Road Bridge just an hour later.
His mother is struggling to come to terms with the July 15 tragedy.
She said: “When I feel strong enough I want to do something to stop this happening to other young people. I’ll go to the high schools and tell them what can happen.”
