More than 800 soldiers and their families will arrive in the region to settle into the former RAF base at Leuchars. A group of visitors from Fallingbostel in Germany have been sampling life in Fife over the past few days. The party of 22 soldiers’ families, who will be moving to Leuchars permanently in the summer, visited schools, community centres and toured the area. A reception and family ceilidh helped the visit go with a swing.
