Fire crews were called to the fire at the J Noble & Son scrapyard in the Smeaton industrial estate at 10.36pm on Tuesday. At its peak eight appliances were in attendance as firefighters fought for several hours to control the blaze. A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said the fire had occurred on open ground. One appliance remains on site this morning. Police Scotland said they are treating the blaze as suspicious.
