Work to revamp the Dundee landfall of the Tay Road Bridge has been delayed.
The removal of the on-ramp should have already begun but it has been postponed because the new replacement ramp is not ready.
City development convener Will Dawson said: “The demolition of the current on-ramp will be delayed until July.
“There was something not quite right with the surfacing of the new ramp, so they are just finishing that off. I am hoping the new ramp will be open later this month.”
The most recent update from the contractors said that waterproofing and strengthening of the existing deck on the southbound plaza has been completed.
Planned activity for June includes finishing works to the west section of the Marketgait bridge and paving the central reserve and verge areas.
It is expected that two night-time closures of the bridge from 1am to 4am will be required at some point to move barriers and traffic signals to accommodate the new traffic layout.
