A Fife man has appeared in court for causing a disturbance at McDonald’s in Dunfermline and an assault in a car, during a night out with friends.
Depute fiscal Claire Crompton told Dunfermline Sheriff Court that Dilshad Hussain had been on a trip with a group of friends and stopped off at McDonalds at Fife Leisure Park on the way home.
When they were leaving McDonald’s the accused’s behavior began to change and he started challenging his friends to fight, she went on.
“You’re no match for me, I’ll take on all three of you,” he was shouting.
His companions initially thought it was a joke and they got into the vehicle they were travelling in along with Hussain.
However, shortly afterwards as the car was driven in Sanderling Way, Hussain leant forward and repeatedly punched the front-seat passenger to the nose and eye, leaving him bleeding.
When the car was stopped, Hussain continued to challenge the others to fight, taking off his jacket, swinging punches and wrapping his belt around his fist.
Hussain, 35, of Gollet Way, Torryburn, admitted that on 21st February last year at McDonald’s, Fife Leisure Park, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence.
He also admitted that in Sanderling Way he assaulted a man by repeatedly punching him on the head to his injury.
Hussain further admitted that at the same locus he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly challenging three males to fight, removed his belt, wrapped it around his hand as a weapon and repeatedly brandished it at them.
Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said his client, who works in a convenience store, had consumed “a large amount of alcohol” and could not remember much about the incidents. He said the behaviour was “out of character”.
Sheriff Craig McSherry fined Hussain £950 and ordered him to pay £250 compensation.
