£1.5 million being spent to help heat up Fife homes

Fife Council aims to make more homes in the kingdom warmer this year.
It is being allocated almost £1.5 million from a Scottish Government energy efficiency programme. The money will be used to help homeowners and private landlords in areas of fuel poverty.
New means of boosting home energy efficiency are being devised and council officers are to bid for even more money from the scheme.
Executive spokesman for housing, communities and local services, Councillor David Ross, said: “Fife Council is working on how best to use this much-needed money and will release more information about how people can take advantage of it as soon as we can.
“We want to make sure it is targeted to those who need it most as we know that there are many people in Fife who struggle to pay the escalating fuel bills coming through their door.
“Eradicating fuel poverty is a huge challenge but one the council is committed to tackling in a range of different ways, working with a range of different partners.”
